|Description:|| SYNOPSIS OF POSITION OFFERED
A position within the AquaBioTech GroupTM has arisen for a suitably qualified person to work as a bioplanning consultant on a variety of projects within the Group’s diverse portfolio.
The primary task is to prepare all bioplanning works including developing growth predictions, rearing protocols, biofilter sizing, denitrification/nitrification predictions, water quality standards, feed conversion recommendations, and waste production predictions relating to recirculation systems and a wide variety of aquaculture species from existing knowledge within the company, literature review and mathematical deduction. Incumbent in this is advising on the appropriate equipment for species, stage, and waste production. Further, the bioplanning consultant will work regularly with the installations team to prepare BoQ’s and project budgets. Also within the remit of the bioplanning consultant is the planning of, and advising on existing, production cycles within hatcheries taking into account growth curves, mortalities, and production limitations as indicated by the clients. Candidates must be able to interact well with clients both remotely and on site-specific visits.
In addition, the AquaBioTech GroupTM operates a diverse business and anticipates other opportunities into which the successful candidate may expand their portfolio over time, including (but not limited to) organising experiments and field trials, supervising internships, and designing and administering an e-learning course.
The position is a demanding position requiring a person who is highly motivated, methodical and organised. The selected person must be prepared to work to very tight deadlines in isolated and multi-functional projects and in conjunction with a team of international staff.
|Other Benefits:||The wage package offered for this position will depend upon the level of experience that the consultant brings to the company. There will be the opportunity for the candidate to earn bonuses that are project specific, individual performance specific and company performance bonuses that are dependent upon the performance of the company as a whole.|
|Other Requirements:||Qualifications Overview A successful candidate is likely to have a good solid background in aquaculture sciences, preferably with at least an M.Sc. level of education, although experienced B.Sc. graduate candidates are also encouraged to apply. Specific knowledge of recirculation aquaculture technology, biological filtration, larval and juvenile development of fish will be considered an asset. Familiarity with a wide variety of aquaculture species, as well as a keen interest in new species, is similarly important. The candidate must be good with math and excel, particularly to develop and interpret growth relationships, as well as using and developing formulas from scientific literature to advise clients on bioplanning. The successful candidate will be offered a medium-term contract with the company that could easily be extended. The selected candidate will have to speak and write English fluently and knowledge of any other languages, such as Russian, French, Spanish, and/or Arabic would be considered an asset, although not essential. The selected candidate must be over twenty-three (23) years of age, have a clear EU passport with no travel restrictions or legal convictions and be in possession of a clean driving licence.
